Project Overload, Silhouettes Single Review

Project Overload, Silhouettes Single Review

One of Coventry’s finest, Project Overload, have released their latest single, Silhouettes, which is a jangle pop masterclass that creates some serious toe tapping action.

One thing that is incredibly prominent about the song is the levels of the instrumentation and how they all come together. The combination of the shuffling drum beat alongside the shimmering guitar riffs brings out the song’s true jangle element which directly and successfully grabs the listener’s attention from the beginning. The way the instruments are played subtly transition and change throughout the song, helping to usher the track along.

The vocals are delivered with much delicacy, which is very pleasant on the ears, and harmonic backing vocals help give the song an extra level of engagement while simultaneously being reminiscent of the jangle pop genre quality of 60s style harmonies and melodies with a modern indie splash.

Overall, this song delves heavily into a jangle pop and indie rock hybrid style with belting instrumentation, graceful vocals and ultra-fine development to keep the track interesting and full of whooshing energy.
